From the appearance of your child’s first tooth, you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible.

From the appearance of your child’s first tooth, you should schedule an appointment as soon as possible. This initial examination will assess the development of your child’s mouth, provide you with a complete preventative dental program, provide advice about nutrition and will inform you on how to avoid possible problems.

After this initial exam, a second appointment should be scheduled for children at 2.5 to 3 years of age, and a third appointment at 3.5 to 4 years of age. After this, appointments should be scheduled 1-2 times per year.
